Condolences for Kenneth Wayne Hendricks

Jim Veale posted on 7/17/14

Ken was a founding member of the Davy Crockett Chapter # 47 of the Sons of the Republic of Texas.  He served several terms as Chapter President and in other leadership positions.  The chapter will celebrate it's 20th anniversary in December 2014.

In March 2013 Ken was honored as Parade Grand Marshall of the Texas Independence Day Celebration of North Texas.  In addition, the City of Granbury issued a proclamation designating March 2, 2013 as "Ken Hendricks Day" in the City of Granbury.

Ken loved Texas and her history.  His leadership will be greatly missed.

Thoughts go out to the family in this time of sadness.

We met Ken when we moved here in 1997. A truly sweet and kind person and a great lover of Texas A&M, especially the Corps of Cadets. Scott was very proud to have worked on attaining a Hood County Sul Ross Endowed Scholarship for the Corps at Ken's suggestion and with his generous support. We will be unable to attend his services as we will be out of town for an A&M function, but know Ken would have understood and supported that. We will be proud to answer "Here" next year at Muster when Ken's name is called.
