Leslie Dale Isham, 75, of Pecan Plantation, Granbury, TX went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 19th at his home with his family by his side.  He had put up a good fight battling AML for three and one-half years.
Memorial service:  2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 in Martin’s Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Daryl Inman officiating.  At a later date, ashes will be interred at the Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche, TX. making him the fifth generation of his family to be buried at Oakwood.
Visitation:  1:00 – 2:00 p.m. preceding the service.
Dale was born in Gorman, TX on February 14, 1941 to Frances (May) Isham and J.N. Isham.  Both preceded their son in death.
Dale joined Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Comanche, TX at an early age.  He was a graduate of Comanche High School, attended Tarlton College in Stephenville, TX and graduated Business School In Austin, TX.  He served his country as a member of the Air National Guard Reserve.  Dale began his 30 year career with Texas Utilities as a meter reader for TP&L and moved up through the ranks making several moves within Texas and ending his career as Manager of Systems Development in Dallas, TX in 1992.  He served on several business and professional boards and organizations.
After retirement he moved to DeCordova Bend Estates in Granbury, TX to pursue his passion for golf.  His favorite golf tournaments were the Club Bender’s at DCBE and Guys and Dolls at Pecan Plantation.  When his wife decided they needed a larger house they moved to Pecan Plantation in 1998.
He had a love for music, Fox News, football, casinos and loved to travel.  Road trips were his favorite, once going from Granbury to Hilton Head, So. Carolina without using an interstate highway.  He was an active member of the Granbury Brigade for several years working all the activities on the Granbury Square including the Candlelight Tour of Homes.
Dale is survived by his best friend and wife of 39 years, Brenda Miller Isham; son, Joe Isham of Houston, TX; daughter, Jena Ellsworth of Austin, Tx; step-son, Ray Miller of Liberty Hills, Tx; step-grandson, Brandon Miller of Austin; sister, Janice McCullough and  husband Joe Paul of Comanche, TX; sisters and brothers-in-law, Harold and Chong Miller of No. Richland Hills;  Howard Miller of Leesville, LA; , Vicki and Mike Edwards of Ft. Worth, TX; , Dean Miller of Dallas and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A special thank you to Dee and Deb at Glen Rose Medical Center and Ronnia and Kim at Granbury Texas Oncology, as well as, Dr. Ooman and Dr. S’Spain for the love and support shown during his battle against Leukemia
